What is a "talisman"?

I was recently asked "What is a "talisman"?

My answer is a mixture of what I have learned through various outside sources, and what I have learned through my own personal experience and understanding.

Oxford Dictionary's online definition for talisman is:

'noun' -

 "an object, typically and inscribed ring or stone, that is thought to have "magic" powers and to bring good luck."

"a person regarded as  representing and inspiring a particular group"

Wikipedia's online definition is:

"A talisman is any object ascribed with religious or magical powers intended to protect, heal, or harm individuals for whom they are made."

My intentions are not to harm anyone, given that this business is my livelihood and I believe in Karmic consequences of all thoughts, intentions, and actions. With this in mind, I developed my personal definition for Tracey's Talisman as follows:

"Tracey's Talisman are crystals intuitively weaved with precious metal wire into a pendant that can be used as a tool of focus and intention to support the wearer's personal journey of healing and transformation."

My tagline is:

"Tracey's Talisman - Artisan handcrafted talismanic treasures inspired by the light and love in you"

The course of my entire life has been influenced by the people that I have known and encountered. Each person had either a positive or negative impact altering the course of my journey. My strength and wisdom has been developed through the experiences that I have had with people and on my own.

I have been an empath my entire life and have a very unique ability to feel what others feel deep in their spirit, this connection has developed throughout the years and is now what influences my art in creating my talismans.

I also have a  very deep connection to "God" and understanding of the "Universe", this love and faith in spirit is what imbues my talismans with their spiritual energies when aligned with the openness and faith of the wearer. My talismans can only flow with spiritual energies when the pathway is opened through intention and focus.

Not everyone has the same belief system or faith, so my talismans will respond uniquely to each individual based on whether they were created for spiritual purpose or visual aesthetic. My talismans are pretty with purpose because they are made with crystals that carry unique energy signatures that can be harnessed and utilized as tools to support spiritual healing and growth.

My work is both artistic and spiritual. No two talismans are every exactly the same, unless they commissioned to be by the customer.

My talismans are filled with light and love because this work fills my soul with purpose and pleasure. My practice integrates my spirituality, knowledge, and understanding of God and the Universe. My unique treasures also reflect my love of art and creativity.

When I create specifically for an individual by request, I channel the energies of God/Universe to guide my hand, so that the lifeforce energies carried in the talisman always works to support the unique energy and spiritual needs of the wearer. These commissioned talismans are my favorite because they are created with intention from the moment of conception in good will for the soul purpose of supporting the wearer's journey of healing and transformation.

I am currently on my own personal path of healing and transformation, so every positive action towards another's journey will be passed back to my journey in a positive cycle of karma and spiritual faith. This faith and belief drives me to focus on goodness and growth, so that life cycles are filled with love and light. This work brings me joy and fills my soul with purpose. I felt called to this work and will continue this path for as long as possible.
